Ever wonder how long you have to cook things? Never fear, a new infographic is here! Just grab a food thermometer! 🌡👍🏻 For a lot of these, the internal temperature is critical so that you don’t get sick, like with the chicken. 🍗 For other foods, like the 🥩 steak, the temperatures help determine whether you end up eating a well-done or medium rare steak.

According to the USDA, the Danger Zone 🙅🏻‍♀️🤮 goes from 40 °F – 140 °F. This means that leaving food out too long at room temperature can cause bacteria, such as staph, salmonella, and ecoli to grow to dangerous levels that can cause you to get sick and running to the restroom 💩! Eeks! Bacteria grow most rapidly in the range of temperatures between 40 °F and 140 °F, doubling in number in as little as 20 minutes. Food should be kept out of this zone.

Raw meat and poultry should always be cooked to a safe minimum internal temperature (see graphic). When roasting meat and poultry, use an oven temperature no lower than 325 °F. If you aren’t going to serve hot food right away, it’s important to keep it at 140 °F or above! @caligirlgetsfit
