Learning roughly what calories are in a cup or a serving of food can help massively with moving into a more intuitive way of eating. Portion sizing tends to be the thing most people struggle with when trying to eat more intelligently to meet their goals.

These 100kcal options are great to memorise for easy meal building.

For example I know I need to eat about 2 of those servings in my meals to maintain my weight. If I want to gain then I need to increase my portion size by another serving across all meals. I may not even need to touch protein or fats with this method, I could just adjust my carbs to suit my new rough calorie goal. It’s not a one size fits all method by any means, but it is an easy, very general, strategy you could follow if you have decent understanding of your body and don’t fancy macro tracking constantly. .
