That classic Sunday supper – sometimes with salad, sometimes with asparagus, and always with pasta and salmon 🤣. I receive a lot of questions about where I buy my fish, and the answer is Whole Foods (it always is 😂) because they have stricter sustainability standards than most other grocery stores ☺️. I try to buy wild, but always go with what’s either most local (although local fish is nonexistent in DC) or most fresh 💯.
#whatsonmyplate: crispy seared salmon (this is how I make it 99% of the time; when you have good quality fish, you really don’t need much more than salt & pepper 👉🏻 crispy seared salmon (season salmon fillet with sea salt and black pepper. In a non-stick pan, heat 1 tsp. avocado oil (or garlic ghee) for one minute. Add salmon filet, skin side up, and sear for 3 minutes, then flip and let it finish cooking on its skin – approx. 4 mins). •• cast-iron cooked asparagus 🌱•• eatbanza spaghetti tossed in olive oil and topped with parm & parsley (leftover from a couple nights ago) 🌿.
Capping off a wonderful weekend filled with friend time (yesterday) and rest & recharge time (today). Over the years, I’ve found I feel my best when my weekends are balanced with both. I’m truly an extrovert-introvert, which means social situations energize me, but only for a couple of hours, and then I need a few hours to recharge my batteries alone ☺️. devotedexistence asked this question today, but I’m curious, too: are you an introvert, an extrovert, or a combination of both? ❤️
